At your child’s exam, we will take steps to make sure they're comfortable. Dr. Neelon Patel and our team will clean their teeth thoroughly, take x-rays, and perform an oral exam. Dr. Neelon Patel will develop a personalized treatment plan for your little one to keep their mouth healthy.
Sedation is often a good option for kids that are nervous, anxious, or uncooperative. We offer a few different sedation options at our office.
With our Solea CO2 dental laser, most of our procedures can be performed without anesthesia. This results in more comfort and less anxiety for your little one during treatment. However, we still offer local anesthesia when necessary.
Laughing gas makes kids feel more comfortable, reduces discomfort, and helps them deal with anxiety. The effects of laughing gas wear off after just a few minutes. Throughout the procedure, your child will remain fully conscious and responsive to commands and questions. It's a great option for kids with special needs.
Perfect for children who require more extensive treatment, are too young to sit still for their procedure, or have other special needs, general anesthesia safely puts children to sleep so they won't feel any pain or experience any anxiety. We work with a certified anesthesiologist in a hospital setting when using general anesthesia.
At your Naperville pediatric dentist, we provide general anesthesia in a hospital environment. Your child will be sedated under the eye of a trained anesthesiologist, who will calculate the proper dosage and monitor their vital signs throughout the entire procedure. You can rest easy knowing your little one is in good hands.

We can offer special appointment times for patients with special needs, when our office will be less crowded and your child may feel more comfortable.
It’s important for parents and caregivers to understand how they can keep their child’s teeth healthy at home, so Dr. Neelon Patel will work with you to help develop a personalized treatment plan for your child.
Some kids with special needs may be more likely to develop cavities or gum disease. If that’s the case, we may recommend more frequent cleanings and oral exams, along with preventive care like fluoride treatments and dental sealants.
